Wilderness

Heartbeats and bows are
Below us and above;
you Are my only discouragement.
To keep my heart from drying
Your palpating eyes will commit
Suicide on the eve of our
Anniversary; eternal and whole
And timeless strength.
Dried air beneath us
Quivers through our
Veins because we died
In us and we died in us
And we died in us.
