Fenced

And it has been too long
Where we have left the
Smothering quilts of
Broken patches and
Stubborn dizzy eyes.
Draft in my spinning
You were my God yesterday
You are my skin today
It was your test and
I left your breathing
Alone.
And it was you who held
Me steady during the distance
Between my shattered toes.
Buttered shy backs are
Hoping for stems;
But I crave the doors
To open wider and longer.
It was you it was always
You. i taste your panic
And am delighted to
Your water eyes.
